Introduction

In July of 2021, Keigo Oyamada resigned from participating in the music for the Tokyo Olympics due to the flare-up of his past bullying issues. As of mid-October, the falsehoods that were initially reported are being corrected, but Keigo Oyamada himself is not expected to return. There were new developments in September (an interview in Bunshun and a statement on the official Cornelius website), but the public reaction was not encouraging. Perhaps we are on the brink of a great reversal, or perhaps time will save Keigo Oyamada, or perhaps he will just disappear, but there is a strange calm. Maybe it’s just that people have forgotten about it. There are those who continue to criticize Keigo Oyamada, saying that he is outrageous. There are those who chant the mantra that a lifetime of being called a poop backdrop is not a bad life. There are those who keep the flame of hope burning and work to restore the honor of Keigo Oyamada.

How did an ordinary person follow the problems of Keigo Oyamada?

I would like to leave something behind while my memory still has a sense of reality. I hope you will read it to find out the difference between how I followed it and how you did.

And finally, I have something to say.

I don’t know what the whole thing will be like. It’s all subjective, wrong, misunderstood, and shit. It’s awesome, right? I’ll try to be as accurate as possible, but if I’m obviously wrong, please point it out quietly. We’ll take care of it. I’m going to use the form of a postscript to show how I got it wrong.

When talking about Keigo Oyamada’s problem, we cannot ignore Shuichi Kitao’s “What I thought after re-reading Bullying Chronicles,” which was published right after Keigo Oyamada resigned. That article is now available for a fee, and it is difficult to recommend that you read it. I don’t know whether Shuichi Kitao’s article will continue to be paid or not. I am convinced that the article still has a great deal of meaning. The fact that the articles cannot be read freely continues to increase their significance. Whether you have read it or not has become a divide. I strongly believe that if only the excerpts and main points were made available officially for free, it would be a great help.

As I write this, I basically don’t read past articles again, except for important ones. Would the average person read the article again? Of course not. I would like you to refer to the level of understanding of the general public, including myself.

At the same time, I will not examine the details of the bullying, such as what was done and what was not done. This is because I think the essence of this issue lies in a slightly different place. I will help in a small way to correct the hoax.

I’m sorry, but I don’t know much about music, Keigo Oyamada, or the surrounding culture, and I have no great interest in it.

The atmosphere of “don’t talk about it without enough knowledge”, that’s the problem.
