Keigo Oyamada
July. I think my impression of Keigo Oyamada was generally the same as that of the average person.
The guy with the poop backdrop.
This was later corrected as a hoax, but all my prior knowledge of Keigo Oyamada was blown away, and I was left with only that impression. I knew that there were meme-like ugly stories about him. How intense, I thought, but I misunderstood and resented it as much as anyone else. No Olympics! I was busy.
I think the first news for me was not “Keigo Oyamada is on fire” but “Keigo Oyamada has resigned”. From that point on, I read various websites about Keigo Oyamada’s bullying problem as recommended by AI. I was unconsciously looking for more cruel descriptions. There was no way I could think about the truth, so I let my righteous indignation build up. As far as I can remember, there were rather few articles that clearly stated that Keigo Oyamada did it. I think there were many articles that first informed us of Keigo Oyamada’s resignation, and then blurred the “who” and put the description of the bullying. At best, it was neutral; at worst, it was insurance. I think there were some articles that reported bullying on the first page, and then on the following page, they put an interview saying that there was no bullying. It was a sophisticated technique.
It was decades ago, so it was inevitable. I remember being convinced by the non-essential part. Also, the fact that the article required insurance, and if “it was Keigo Oyamada doing just that”, it is a clear criminal act. If it were true, he would have already been exterminated socially. I think I watched it with a little suspicion.
In the end, I was just consuming bullying as entertainment. There was no sense of guilt there. It could be said that it was a social issue related to the Olympics. I consumed bullying as a form of entertainment with a plausible reason. Now that the enthusiasm of the time has passed, I am ashamed to even remember it. Keigo Oyamada seemed to enjoy talking about bullying. There was no need for fact-checking or verification. For me, it was enough to condemn Keigo Oyamada as evil. As long as Keigo Oyamada was evil, I had no qualms about consuming bullying as entertainment.
My summer of 2021, it was the summer of the poop backdrop. The poop backdrop crushed everything else. Also, the triathlon that was forced to be held in shit-polluted water quality.
It’s all poop.
July
July, 2021. The Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be held under the fourth emergency declaration due to the Corona disaster. Avoid going out unnecessarily. Avoid crowding. The people were forced to exercise self-restraint. In contrast, a crimson advertising car of an Olympic sponsor company led the torchbearers with a DJ screaming. The Blue Impulse painted the Olympic symbol in the sky.
It was chaos.
On the news, we saw Yoshiro Mori’s gaffes, Hiroshi Sasaki’s gaffes, stamps, faxes, and crowded trains. It was a disgusting, Showa-era topic. Vaccinations for the working-age population were slow in coming, and hospital beds were tight. The citizens were frustrated.
A bizarre blaze
What was the bashing of Keigo Oyamada like at that time? For me, the first news was “Keigo Oyamada’s resignation”. I guess I started watching after things calmed down a bit. Public opinion criticized Keigo Oyamada’s alleged bullying as an absolute evil from the standpoint of justice. I think most of them took that approach. Some of them even made a fuss about it being a matter of national interest (that’s me).
The impression at the time that the content was so shocking was that it was inexplicably and perfectly evil in all directions. No matter how you criticize it, it somehow sounds like a good thing to say. The self-restraint caused by the Corona disaster continued, and the influence of the Internet was growing. Furthermore, the timing of the Olympics was imminent.
There was a sense of urgency in the whole country to deny everything about Keigo Oyamada, and the atmosphere was somewhat bizarre.
It must have been the eyes from abroad. Japan’s awareness of human rights has not been updated since the Showa era. There was a fear that this would be exposed. I was ashamed that I did not want Keigo Oyamada to be seen as a Japanese. Now that I think about it calmly, it was foolish. As an excuse, the “fervor” at the time was extraordinary.
As a result, the fist was shaken down. It seemed that justice had been done, and that was enough for me.
No matter what you say, you are forgiven.
There was a consensus of public opinion on this flare-up. The wise ones even thought it was a government-sanctioned venting. In fact, how did it work on the platform? Needless to say. Laputa? That’s how it went. What about the affiliates? The Olympics and Keigo Oyamada, how many views did they get? I guess there are people who make money from this. Evil has been condemned, but unfinished justice remains.
Thus, Keigo Oyamada was burned to the ground, and even his surroundings were burned to the ground. To put it crudely, those who violate human rights will have their human rights violated.
…It’s messy, isn’t it?
